Narcissus. 2022
An exhibition of work created in response to the daffodil picking industry in Cornwall and the difficulties it has been facing over the past few years.
Cornwall provides 75% of Europe’s entire stock, It’s the county’s biggest export and up until recently, the daffodil season would attract migrant workers from across the continent, providing financial stability as well as temporary residence in the country. Following Brexit, overseas workers have been unable to come over and the Cornish farms have been struggling to meet their picking quota, leaving thousands of daffodils unharvested.
